Mens Reserve Team Match Report 13/01/24
Olveston United Reserves 0-0 Seymour United
Olveston Reserves returned to action in 2024 with a well deserved point at home to 5th placed Seymour. Olveston started brightly, testing the visitors defence. Sam Adams and Ollie Ford were looking lively in attack midfielder Joe Forss had a decent attempt from distance after a good turn 25 yards out. Ford then squandered the best chance of the half, failing to test the keeper when sent through one on one.
HT 0-0
The second half was more of a defensive rearguard as Seymour came out looking for all 3 points. But a very good performance from the defensive quartet of Thornton, Jones, Cooper and Gilbert stood firm in the wave of constant visitors pressure. The game finished 0-0 and Olveston fully deserved a point from what was a very good performance.
Man of the Match sponsored by Circuit Hospitality was George Rowen. Great handling and some critical saves in what was a good team performance all round.
