The Os had won their first two games and they made the perfect start here. Nicola Coles fed Rosanna Blacker, who fired home her fourth goal of an already productive season for the striker. Paulton responded very well and were asking most of the first half questions. The pressure was rewarded after 20 minutes, when the away side levelled. Good work down their right hand side was matched by an arrowed finish off the far post. Paulton were in no mood to settle for that and took the lead after half an hour. Gwyther allowed ample time and space on the edge of the area to take several touches before driving a finish into the roof of the net.
Olveston, to their credit, woke up after falling behind and were given a golden chance to level before the break. Jess Dobbins refused to give up on a loose ball and she was clattered from behind just inside the area. The forward dusted herself off and converted the penalty, maintaining her record of scoring in every game so far.
Whatever was said to the Os at half time, it certainly had a positive effect. The end-to-end nature of the first 45, was swapped with waves of home pressure. Blacker had the first real chance following that pressure, but she could only lash over the bar. Rosanna Rocha was on for her competitive debut after the hour and came inches from converting a cross at the back post, as the Os continued to probe. The chances kept coming but the third goal remained elusive. Shannon Francis headed just wide after she stayed up from a recycled corner before Emily Wolfe had the final big chance to snatch all 3 points. Ollie Hood did brilliantly to find her fellow substitute Wolfe, but her low effort was brilliantly saved by the visiting keeper with the game ending level.
